Our Potty Training Nightmare!

The short one has always been a little smarty pants. He knew all his letters and sounds by the time he was 2. He taught himself how to read when he was 2 1/2. But we could not get him to potty train! We tried everything! We had the book "potty training in a day." We read it. We tried it. It didn't work with the short one. So after like forever of trying and trying and trying, we just gave him the book and let him read it. The next thing you know, he has his bear in on his little potty showing him how to potty, but the short one STILL would not potty train! He knew how to do it, he just refused! He was 4 years and 3 months old before he finally potty trained and the only thing that worked was me holding him on the potty until he did it. After a couple times of doing that he was fine.
